What is cataract?

A cataract is a progressive, painless clouding of the natural, internal lens of the eye. Cataract blocks light, making it difficult to see clearly. Over an extended period of time, cataract can cause blindness. It is often related to growing older, but sometimes it can develop in young.  

మనకంటి లో లెన్స్  అనే అద్దం ఉంటుంది. అది కొందరిలో  వయసుతో  సహజంగా  ఉండే పారదర్శత  కోల్పోయి  చూపు మందగిస్తుంది. ఇలా  చూపు మందగిస్తూ  చివరిగా చూపు కనిపించకుండా  పోతుంది. ఇలా కంటిలోని  లెన్స్ పారదర్శకత  కోల్పోవడాన్నే శుక్లము అంటాము.
కొన్ని  సార్లు  చిన్నవయసులోని వారికీ కూడా  శుక్లాలు  ఏర్పడవచ్చు.
